Kampala Contemporary Art Festival 2014.
Drawing from Kampala’s urban structures.
Violet Nantume (Kampala, Berlin)
Kampala is inhabited by inexorably flexible and mobile residents operating in complex networks without clear management and governance structures. It is amidst this that Kampala Contemporary Art Festival 2014, held under the theme of Unmapped, sought to curatorially imagine human interactions and activities embedded in daily realities as structures that are constantly negotiated over changing grounds. It is on such uneven ground that the art scene functions and flourishes.
